Medulasa is the main studio and project from Bunny Kay-Traynor of Greater Manchester, UK. As a composer, producer and DJ, their work incorporates elements of various underground strains of music, from gabber and post-metal, to trance and grime. Their multitude of personal projects includes work under names such as DJ Netflex, Hypersport Ltd., DJ Airdnb, The Dubwitch Horror, Church Of Decay, Pet Cemetery, and one half of noise act A Vengeance with Bram E. Gieben aka Texture. They were recently invited to be a part of Sound And Music's "In Motion" cohort for 2024-25 for their Cathedrals of Sound: Remaking the Gothic project - a theoretical, philosophical and musical reexamination of The Gothic in music through a series of video essays and audience feedback culminating in a forthcoming record intended as a blueprint for a new subgenre of the gothic in electronic music.

Their musical journey started at 14 when they decided it'd be really cool to be in a band. Due to the distastefully enthusiastic support shown by their parents, they then elected to study classical music despite no formal training or any idea how to play an instrument as a way to do teenage rebellion against a very punk family. This resulted in a BMus and MA from Lancaster University in Music (composition and theory) and Contemporary Arts Research respectively.

The post-postgrad malaise spurred them on to get into underground digital music, forming record label Aural Sects and accidentally making music along the way. Bunny has since toured their music and has been written about by several notable publications despite their impressive levels of self-sabotage.

As an audio engineer, in both mastering and especially in mixing, Bunny's work has become known for achieving maximalist results and heft while retaining musicality, clarity and sensitivity.

If you're reading this, you're very cool.
